If you made your reservation for the Millennium Philcon and if you filled in the space on the webform for your Marriott Rewards Program memberships number, your reservation may have been recorded inaccurately.
There is a problem with booking double rooms at the Marriott via the web interface. If you enter a reservation that way, AND enter a Marriott number on your reservation, then the room reservation will appear to go through, and you will get a confirmation number. However, the reservation will actually go in as a single, not a double, and your email confirmation may well reflect that fact. So there will be a reservation, but it will have the wrong number of people in the room, and the wrong rate (it will be confirmed at the single rate).
Suggestion if you have reserved a room - Check your reservation to see if it is accurate. The best way to check may be Marriott's toll-free (US and Canada) number which is 1-888-236-2427. We suggest that anyone who makes a web based reservation might want to confirm later that it was recorded correctly.
Special Note: If you call in, some of the Marriott reservations staff may tell you that, because you are an Honored Guest member, the rate is the same for singles and doubles, and you need to do nothing. This is an error on their part, caused by the fact that for the (higher than the con rate) weekend rate, it's the same price for HGA members, and they are used to giving that answer. You will still need to tell them to change the reservation to a double, at the convention double rate.
We, and the Philadelphia Marriott, apologize for this inconvenince.
Suggestion if you have not reserved a room yet - If you make a reservation via the Marriott website, do not put in your Marriott number at this time. The problem seems to be happening only when the Marriott number is entered when making the initial reservation. You can add your Marriott number at a later date.
Marriott tech support is aware of the issue, but don't have an estimated time for a fix. Until then, we recommend that people not enter their Marriott numbers when they first make the reservation. You can always call it in later, or advise the front desk at check-in. Omission of the number does not affect any portion of your reservation; it is only used to assign Marriott points for your stay.
