Our Vision for the Millennium Philcon

The Millennium Philcon will serve as a forum for people throughout the world for the discussion and promotion of the educational, creative, and innovative aspects of science fiction and fantasy in literature, the arts, the sciences, and the role of fandom.

The Millennium Philcon will:

• promote the educational, creative, and innovative aspects of all forms of science fiction and fantasy in literature and the arts;
  
• be true to the traditions of the World Science Fiction Convention, while being receptive to the possibilities for innovation presented by the new millennium;
  
• be inclusive and fan friendly, providing activities for all ages and interests within the science fiction fan community;
  
• promote the activities of other organizations and groups within the Greater Philadelphia area who are interested in the same subjects;
  
• encourage the appreciation of science fiction and fantasy in literature and the arts by younger generations;
  
• promote public interest in and knowledge of science and technology;
  
• promote the city of Philadelphia as a center of history, a place of cutting-edge science and technology, and a city worthy of visiting; and
  
• conduct all of the above in a manner consistent with our tax-exempt purposes.
